1pm UPDATE: Oosthuizen on top at The Australian

Louis Oosthuizen
Oosthuizen takes the lead at The Australian at -10 under.

South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen has taken the lead in the Emirates Australian Open at The Australian.

The world No. 24 and Presidents Cup star made two early birdies at the third and the fifth holes to jump over the top of overnight leader Matt Jones and England’s Paul Casey.

His brilliant short iron in close at the fifth hole was the highlight.

Oosthuizen is at 10-under par through five holes, a shot ahead of Casey and Matt Jones at nine-under.

Jones dropped a shot at the par-three fourth hole from the greenside trap.

Jamie Arnold was the hot player on the course today, going around in 64  to jump on to the leaderboard.

The best conditions of the week greeted the players today, with little or no smoke haze and only light winds.
